About Me

Meena Dershin, Ed.M., NCC, LPC

I am a Psychotherapist and Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in individual and couples counseling, psychotherapy, and tauma treatment. My practice is conveniently located in Doylestown, PA, the heart and county seat of Bucks County. My office privately sits on the farm land once owned by Sound of Music lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, surrounded by lush landscaping, beautiful trees, and a pond frequented by feathered friends.

With 15 years of experience as an Individual and Couples Therapist, and as a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and Temple University, I am currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Important themes in psychotherapy include: difficult life transitions, traumatic experience, desire for and fear of change, anxiety and depression management, mindfulness, positive focus, grief and loss, job stress, relationship difficulties, parenting stress, adolescent issues, and improving assertive communication.

I am an interactive therapist with roots in existential therapy and evolutionary psychology. My therapeutic approach integrates traditional psychoanalytic psychotherapy with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Yogic breathing and philosophies to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. I have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and am EMDR trained through EMDRIA. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
